Noon to 9:00pm:
- Interactive Toys-for-Tots exhibit sponsored by the Lansing Board of Water & Light. Located on 200 N Block of Washington Square, this interactive exhibit benefits the United States Marine Corps’ Toys-for-Tots program which provides toys to children in need. Bring your unwrapped toy and experience the fun!
5:00 to 9:00pm:
- Free entertainment at more than twenty activity sites in downtown Lansing
- Free admission to downtown Lansing’s cultural centers and museums
- Free cider and cookies at four downtown entertainment sites
- Extended holiday shopping and restaurant hours in downtown Lansing
- Roasted Chestnuts provided by the Michigan Nut Producers Association on Washington Square
5:00pm to 10:00pm:
- CATA Silver Bells Routes: Park in the State of Michigan parking lots off of Kalamazoo, Allegan or Ottawa and pick up the CATA bus at Kalamazoo Street. Ride for just 50¢ round trip fare when you board a Silver Bells route bus or use your CATA fixed route pass. Children 42” and under ride for free. If you pay cash, you must have exact change. Transfers to other buses may be made at boarding centers or bus stops along the route. CATA fixed route transfers are free. Just ask the driver for a transfer ticket when you board your first bus.

- Horse Drawn Wagon Rides on Washington to Capitol Avenue
5:30 to 9:00pm:
- Visit Santa and live reindeer at the Lansing City Market

- 12th Annual Electric Light Parade Begins on Washington Square
- Live broadcast of the Electric Light Parade at the Lansing Center and on City of Lansing public access station
Following Parade:
- Lighting of Michigan’s Official Christmas Tree in front of the State Capitol
- Fireworks over the State Capitol following tree lighting (weather permitting)
7:30 to 9:00pm:
- Horse Drawn Wagon Rides resume on Washington Avenue after the conclusion of the fireworks over the capitol dome
